Couples are moving away from the traditional wedding reception script of formal toasts, guest favors, wedding cakes and formal dinners. If toasts are done, they are more often done at the rehearsal dinner instead of during the wedding. Mixed desserts have gained favor over wedding cakes and food stations are taken over for buffets and seated dinner.
There are a number of benefits to these trends like costs and the less formal structure creates a more relaxed and fun atmosphere.
